We had a wonderful trip to the Gulf Coast in April. I took lots of reference photo’s so have no excuse not to paint.
“The Gulf Dunes” is pastel 11″ x 14″ on Uart paper. These dunes were at the end of a long, almost a mile, wood walkway on Tyndall AFB. Well worth the walk.

“Early Sunrise” pastel – my goal was to portray the light as it came up over the mountain.
March is a good time to paint dogs so Golden Retrievers are the subject.

“Blue Boat” is pastel on Uart mounted paper – 16 x 12. I love the area where I found this scene.
Forest Road is pastel on Multi-Media paper with a watercolor underpainting.
I reworked the roadway on this painting. It’s square format -8″ x 8″
I’m working on the Multimedia Artboard – new to me. I love doing the watercolor underpaintings which this paper accepts very well.

“Forest Path” pastel 12 x 9 – What a beautiful area to paint in the Hendersonville, NC area. I took lots of photo’s to paint.
“Rusty Iris” and “Field of Poppies” were accepted into the Alabama Pastel Society show
“Brasstown Valley” was accepted into the Southern Appalachian Artist Guild National Show in Blue Ridge, GA
I think this is finished. I will leave it on the easel for a few days to see if it needs any tweaking.
“Watercolor Reflections” is a work in progress. Wish I had taken photos earlier but since I did not,I will have to show you from here. The background behind the palm has lots of work as well as the reflection. The same painting was done in pastel and I’m excited to see how the watercolor will come out compared to the pastel.
